I love the holiday season and I love the Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar to go with it. I will be doing a daily post with the products opened that day. I chose to do tags this year as a sample and will keep them handy when I’m looking for the just-right sentiment, die, or embossing folder.
For all these tags, i used scrap pieces from my stash, I may not be able to identify the manufacturer for you but if you are interested, I can see if I can find a matching full page and find the manufacturer.
I also tried to use products only available with the calendar set, as the days go by, there is more to pick from to create a tag. I brought in some Circle dies, or other types of dies in order to complete the project.
DAY 1 –
Behind door #1 we have a die set that confused me at first… but is a dog, lying on his back, sleeping, with the sentiment “I woof you”. Very cute!
To me, this looks like a short hair dachshund which is why I selected the brown and black colors for the dog.
Tag Measurements – 2.5 x 4.25 inches
Assembly instructions – Die cut stitched tag from background, I used a rust color scrap. Punch or die cut lighter colored circles and apply to tag to create background.
Die Cut the dog body, ears, feet, and spots from brown scrap paper. From the dog body, cut the hind feet out.
Die cut the collar from blue scrap cardstock.
Die cut mouth and drool from pink scrap cardstock.
Assemble dog layering the mouth pink behind the head. Layer the ears behind the head. Attach the collar, feet and brown spots to the front. Add the nose and drool. Finish with a white gel pen to freckle the dog cheeks.
Punch the heart and assemble to tag front.
Add ribbon.
