Day 23 –

I think this one is my absolute favorite of the year. The roller skate is so darn cute. Being a child of the 80’s I spent several afternoons at the roller rink.

Picking up on a total 80’s vibe with this die I selected an 80’s era color palette to go with it. I used the wavy corner from day 18 and sentiments from day 19.

It is hard to see, but I used 5 different colors for the wavy dies, the darkest, a dark purple color, doesn’t show against the black tag in the picture. I also used the color for laces.

Tag Measurements – 2.5 x 4.25 inches

Assembly instructions –

Select 5 coordinating colors, I used Stampin’ Up cardstock in, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Orchid Oasis, and Blackberry Bliss.
Die Cut a stitched tag from solid black cardstock scrap.
Die cut 1 corner wavy die from each of the 5 coordinating colors.
Die cut 1 boot base, and shoelace pieces from the darkest color, Blackberry bliss.
Die cut wheels from black cardstock scrap, keep the wheel center circles.
Die cut boot detail and wheels from white cardstock scrap.
Die cut (2) wings from yellow (So Saffron).
Die cut 1 boot rainbow from each of 3 coordinating colors of cardstock.
Die cut skate bottom from silver foil cardstock scrap.
Assemble skate – Adhere white boot detail to the dark boot base. Adhere silver skate hardware behind the boot base. Adhere the white wheels and stopper to the skate hardware. Adhere the black wheel center circles. Adhere shoelace bow and strings to white boot detail with glue only at the knot. Adhere the boot rainbow to the white boot. Adhere wings as desired. I layered the wings together, and then adhered to the boot. You could also do one wing in front and one wing in back.
Stamp the sentiment from day 19 onto the black tag, estimating position. I curved the sentiment by bending the stamp while placing it on the block. Stamp in embossing ink. Heat emboss with white embossing powder.
Assemble tag – Adhere the corner wavy pieces on the left bottom corner.
Using foam pop up tape, adhere the assembled skate under the sentiment.
Attach twine.
